Frequently asked questions

Creatine 101

What is creatine?

Creatine is a naturally occurring amino acid stored in your muscles and brain. Your body makes it on its own, and you also get it from eating meat. It’s the most extensively researched supplement in fitness, with studies showing it can enhance strength, speed up recovery, and sharpen cognitive function.

What are the main benefits of creatine supplementation?

Creatine’s primary advantages include boosting strength, supporting muscle growth, enhancing recovery, and sharpening mental clarity.

When will I see results?

You may experience the benefits of creatine supplementation as early as 2-3 weeks.

When should I take creatine?

Creatine is meant to be taken every day. There’s no specific “best” time to take it—just choose a time and stay with it. Consitency is the most important thing.

Can women take creatine?

Yes. In fact, research suggests women may experience some of the greatest benefits from consistent creatine supplementation.

Should people over 50 years old take creatine?

Yes. People over 50 are one of the groups who benefit the most from creatine

What kind of creatine do your gummies contain?

All of our products are made using creatine monohydrate, the most studied form of creatine. Creatine is safe for healthy older adults, it’s easy to take daily, and it’s one of the simplest, most proven ways to maintain strength, energy, and independence as you get older.

How does creatine monohydrate compare to other variants?

Creatine monohydrate is by far the most studied and reliable form of creatine available. When people mention “creatine,” they’re almost always referring to monohydrate. Other forms lack strong evidence, and we don’t recommend using them.

How should I take my creatine gummies?

To experience the full benefits of proper creatine supplementation, we recommend taking 2-3 gummies once per day, every day. Our gummies contains 1.5 grams of creatine monohydrate. Drink plenty of water.

Is creatine safe to take while pregnant/breastfeeding?

We recommend talking with your healthcare provider before using creatine if you’re pregnant or nursing. Your doctor can help you decide what’s best based on your individual needs.

I have a pre-existing condition, can I take creatine?

We recommend talking with your healthcare provider before introducing any supplements into your routine. Your doctor can help you decide what’s best based on your individual needs.

Do I need to “cycle” on or off creatine?

Creatine Misconceptions

"Creatine is like steroids."

False. Creatine is not a hormone, not a drug, and doesn’t affect testosterone or organs the way steroids do. Your body already makes creatine naturally, and you get it from meat and fish. Supplementing just increases the amount your muscles and brain can use.

“Creatine will make me bloated or puffy.”

Partially false. Creatine does pull more water into muscles, not under the skin. That means healthier, hydrated muscle cells — not bloating or puffiness. Most people don’t notice any visible change except feeling stronger and fuller in the gym

“Creatine is bad for your kidneys.”

False for healthy adults. Decades of clinical research show creatine does not harm kidneys when taken at normal doses (3–5 grams/day). The myth started because creatine slightly raises a lab marker called creatinine, which doctors can misinterpret — but it’s not kidney damage

“I don’t work out, so I don’t need it.”

Partially false. Creatine helps with exercise performance, yes — but it also supports brain function, aging muscle, energy, and recovery. People 50+ who take creatine and simply walk or do light resistance get meaningful benefits in strength and cognition.

“I’ll have to load it and drink a bunch of shakes.”

False. Loading is optional and outdated. Most people just take a daily maintenance dose and see results in 2–3 weeks. Gummies are even easier and don’t require mixing, measuring, or chalky powders.

“Creatine causes hair loss.”

False. This comes from one small study in 2009 looking at a hormone associated with hair loss in men. It never showed actual hair loss and has never been replicated. Research since then shows no proven link between creatine and losing hair.

“It’s only for bodybuilders and young guys.”

False. Creatine helps anyone who wants, better daily energy, stronger muscles, faster recovery after activity, and sharper memory and thinking. It’s especially researched in adults over 55 because it helps counter age-related muscle loss.

“I eat plenty of protein, so I don’t need creatine.”

Protein builds muscle. Creatine fuels muscle. Different jobs. You’d have to eat multiple pounds of red meat daily to get the same amount of creatine found in a basic supplement dose.

“I tried it before and didn’t feel anything.”

Two likely reasons. 1. It wasn’t taken consistently (creatine needs daily use) 2. Diet was low on water or carbs (creatine works best when muscles are hydrated). Most people notice subtle but real improvements in 2–3 weeks with daily intake.

“I’m afraid it’s going to make me gain weight.”

Partially true. 1–3 pounds of water in the muscles is common at first. But it’s not fat gain, and it improves performance, recovery, and overall muscle health.

“I don’t want anything synthetic or chemical.”

Creatine monohydrate is actually one of the simplest compounds in supplements. It’s literally one molecule your body already uses, and it has been studied more than almost any vitamin on shelves.
